Student Spotlight: Meet Katie Matousek!

LKS spotlights student and alumni members that are making a difference in their chapters, in their communities, and in the field of pharmacy.
Tell Us About yourself:
I am currently in my first year of Pharmacy school at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.  I am involved with LKS, campus ministry, and other professional organizations within the college of pharmacy. For hobbies, I like to bargain hunt, knit, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family.  I have been involved in the Alpha Mu chapter since my freshman year.  I currently serve as our chapter Vice-President and contribute to many different committees within Alpha Mu. I attended the National Convention in Buffalo in 2018, and loved visiting Niagra Falls, especially the ‘Maid of the Mist’ ride.
Why did you join LKS:
I joined LKS because I felt empowered during the orientation process, and was super excited to join a sisterhood of successful women who all worked together to better themselves and their community.
Most memorable LKS experience:
My favorite LKS memories have been serving at a local dog shelter and planning a Family Weekend that I was able to shape from the ground up. I especially enjoyed the Family Weekend as I got to watch my fellow sisters and their families connect over LKS.
Career Plans:
I hope to work in a hospital system, or go into residency after I graduate. I have not honed in on one particular field, but am very excited to explore all the possibilities available to me.
