What does receiving an educational grant mean to you?
Receiving an educational grant meant that I had extra money to pursue something to enhance my studies that I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to do. I was able to use the grant money to supplement a study abroad/medical mission trip to Ecuador. I can honestly say that this was a life-changing experience, and I have LKS to thank for it!
What drew you to join LKS?
I joined LKS because I wanted to develop relationships with like-minded women while doing good and having fun in the process. I really looked up to the older members of our chapter when I was a first year, so I knew I wanted to soak up all of the knowledge that they had to offer and follow in their footsteps.
What is your favorite LKS memory?
I have a lot of great memories from LKS, but I have to say that one of my favorites was when our chapter went to an organization called The Nest, a safe place for education, counseling, and support to children and families in crisis. For Halloween, we dressed up in costumes and went to carve pumpkins and play with the kiddos in the daycare. The children latched on to us, and we had so much fun just being big kids and leaving the stress of pharmacy school on the back burner for a short time.
What are your hobbies?
Volunteering/helping others
- Being outside – hammocking, walking in the Arboretum
