Tell us about yourself: (school, chapter, work, hobbies, LKS activities, meetings attended, career plans)
I am currently a P3 at the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy as well as the Professional and Project Hope Chair for the Alpha Phi chapter. I currently work at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Schuylkill Campus, I love how every day is different and I learn something new every day! Outside of pharmacy, I love spending time with my friends, family, and of course my dogs! My favorite chapter event is the Christmas party, we all dress up in ugly Christmas sweaters, play games, and exchange presents. It’s so nice to de-stress a little bit before finals! I had the opportunity to attend two LKS Conventions, Milwaukee and the virtual convention, I loved getting to know more people and bringing new ideas back to the chapter. For my career plans, I plan to pursue a PGY1 and a PGY2 residency. My interests are ambulatory care and cardiology, I see myself as either being an ambulatory care pharmacist or a clinical pharmacist specializing in cardiology and hopefully being able to precept students.
Which of our core values (sisterhood, leadership, service, scholarship and integrity) do you feel you most strongly represent and how?
I would say I strongly represent the core value of service. I am the professional chair of the Alpha Phi chapter so I plan all the community service and patient-centered hours. I really enjoy being able to give back to the community by donating items that are needed, giving out medical information, or providing services that student pharmacists can do. I am also the Project Hope chair and recently we were able to hold a virtual 5K for Project Hope to help them since they are helping the world a lot right now with COVID-19.
What pharmacy or LKS related events are you looking forward to in this upcoming year?
This year I am looking forward to our Christmas party event! Even though it will be online, it will still be fun to catch up with everyone since we can’t really see each other this semester.
What is your favorite chapter/school tradition?
My favorite tradition is BID night because we are really able to get to know the PNMs and we usually have a potluck with it!
Who do you see as your role model in LKS and why?
I met so many wonderful sisters in my chapter and other chapters as well. I would have to say Deanna Fox, current P3 and president of the Alpha Phi Chapter, is my role model. She always has a plan if something goes wrong and is always calm about the situation too. She is very organized and always pushes everyone to do better. I am so thankful LKS brought us together!
What makes you excited to be a ‘lamb for life?’
I am so excited to be a lamb for life! I love being able to grow professionally and personally with so many people. I have so many great memories from LKS and I’m excited to make more!
