At Lambda Kappa Sigma, we believe in transparency when it comes to costs. Our national dues cover administrative services, leadership support, and national programming such as our annual conventions. Additionally, each chapter sets its own dues to maintain an operating budget for expenses related to recruitment, social activities, and professional development. At Lambda Kappa Sigma, the safety and well-being of our members are paramount. While Greek life has faced scrutiny in the past, we want to assure parents that Lambda Kappa Sigma maintains a zero-tolerance policy on hazing. Every member annually signs our code of conduct, committing to uphold our core values of integrity and sisterhood. Additionally, our chapter leaders receive annual risk management training to ensure they are equipped to create safe environments for all members. Furthermore, our chapters receive supervision and guidance from Region Supervisors, further reinforcing our commitment to maintaining a secure and supportive atmosphere for all.

We recognize the responsibility we have in addressing the stigma surrounding Greek organizations in the U.S. and Canada. To ensure a welcoming and beneficial joining process, all chapters are required to follow our standardized orientation program and adhere to the highest standards of conduct.

The orientation process typically spans five weeks, although some schools or universities may require adjustments to meet their own regulations. During this time, prospective members participate in five orientation sessions, each lasting 1 to 1.5 hours, where they learn about the values, traditions, and expectations of Lambda Kappa Sigma. These sessions should take place on campus, during reasonable hours, and should not interfere with academic responsibilities or scholastic activities.

Three key ceremonies are integral to this journey, celebrating the Fraternity’s rich traditions:

1. Induction Ceremony: Prospective members formally state their intention to join Lambda Kappa Sigma.
2. Sunrise Ceremony: Midway through the orientation process, members reaffirm their commitment.
3. Initiation Ceremony: The final and most meaningful ceremony, where members are officially instated as lifelong members of Lambda Kappa Sigma.

Above all, we believe that people stay where they feel celebrated and appreciated. Your loved one should never feel as though they need to prove why they should be allowed to join. Instead, they should feel welcomed, valued, and special throughout the orientation process. This is a time to honor their decision to be part of Lambda Kappa Sigma and to celebrate their potential as a future leader in pharmacy.

While there are sacred “secrets” of the Fraternity—such as our secret sign, password, and rituals—these are symbolic traditions that connect members across generations. Beyond these few traditions, the majority of what we do, including our values, mission, and programming, is not secret and is openly shared to foster transparency and understanding.

If anything outside of this process occurs, we encourage family members and students to report it immediately. Our priority is ensuring a safe, supportive, and empowering experience for every member.
