Veronica Vernon received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University and completed a PGY1 and PGY2 ambulatory care/education residency at Veteran Health Indiana in Indianapolis. Upon completing her training, she created her position as the first gynecology pharmacist at the Indianapolis VA. She managed a multitude of conditions and medications, including contraception, for women and gender-diverse Veterans. She has been involved with teaching VA medical providers across the country on sexual and reproductive health topics.

Due to her passion for teaching the next generation of health care practitioners, Dr. Vernon is now an assistant professor and vice chair of pharmacy practice. She teaches pharmacy and physician assistant students on sexual and reproductive health topics and coordinates and teaches the pharmacy law course. She is an advocate for reproductive health. Dr Vernon successfully led efforts in Indiana to pass pharmacist-prescribed contraception legislation in 2023. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, attending theater productions, and her Peloton. She lives with her two energetic boys, husband, and two dogs outside Indianapolis.
