At Lambda Kappa Sigma, we believe in celebrating those who go above and beyond—those who inspire us with their dedication, leadership, and passion. Each year, we have the privilege of recognizing our exceptional members through our Individual Awards. These awards celebrate the remarkable contributions of those who embody the spirit of LKS in their professional and personal lives.

Award of Merit

This honor goes to alumni who have achieved exceptional success in their careers, community service, or other endeavors. It’s a way to recognize those whose work reflects the high standards and values of Lambda Kappa Sigma.

Distinguished Service Citation

This award celebrates alumni who have made outstanding contributions to our Fraternity. It’s for those whose dedication and service have significantly advanced Lambda Kappa Sigma. (Please note: Current Grand Council members are not eligible for this award.)

Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year Award

This award is for the emerging leaders in their first decade of pharmacy practice. It recognizes those who excel in their profession, engage deeply with their community, and demonstrate remarkable leadership within the Fraternity.

Vanguard Leadership Award

This accolade honors alumni who have made significant, sustained contributions in their professional fields or communities. It’s for those who show exceptional service, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Advisor Award

This award is dedicated to Fraternity or Faculty Advisors who have provided outstanding support and guidance to their chapters. It’s a way to acknowledge those who have gone above and beyond in mentoring and supporting our members.

Collegiate of the Year Award

This prestigious award recognizes a collegiate member who exemplifies the core values of Lambda Kappa Sigma: leadership, scholarship, sisterhood, service, and integrity. Nominations can be made by any member of the organization, and collegiate nominees must have an alumni or advisor sponsor.

Important Details

  • Nominations Open:
    March 1 – April 30
  • Notification: Winners will be informed in June.
  • Recognition: All award recipients receive complimentary registration to the Annual National Convention, where they are celebrated for their remarkable achievements.

How to Nominate

  • Gather Inspiration: Highlight the achievements and impact of your nominee.
  • Submit Your Nomination: Make sure your nomination reflects the nominee’s excellence and contributions by April 30.
  • Celebrate Success: Winners will be honored at the Annual National Convention, celebrating their exceptional contributions.

Special Recognitions

Ruth Davies Flaherty Service Award

The Ruth Davies Flaherty Service Award recognizes one dedicated member from each chapter who has demonstrated exceptional service and unwavering loyalty. This prestigious award honors those who embody the spirit of selfless commitment and make a profound impact on their chapter and the Fraternity. Each year, chapters are encouraged to present this award at a special ceremony at the end of the school year, highlighting the remarkable contributions of their standout member.

Please submit your chapter's Ruth Davies Flaherty Service Award recipient 2-4 weeks in advance of the special ceremony to ensure the certificate arrives on time.

Ethel J. Heath Scholarship Key

The Ethel J. Heath Scholarship Key is a prestigious accolade awarded to graduating collegiate members who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence by ranking in the top 10% of their class. Named after Ethel J. Heath, one of our esteemed founders and a dedicated librarian, this award epitomizes the highest standards of scholarship within Lambda Kappa Sigma.

To honor these outstanding scholars, chapter presidents complete the Ethel J. Heath Scholarship Key Certification Form. Along with a headshot, this form is then sent to the LKS Headquarters Office. Recipients receive a certificate and a special piece of jewelry to add to their Fraternity badge dangle, presented during a special end-of-school-year ceremony within their chapter. This recognition celebrates their dedication, hard work, and commitment to academic excellence.

50 Year Membership

This award is a tribute to our members who have dedicated 50 years to Lambda Kappa Sigma. Their unwavering commitment and loyalty serve as an inspiration to us all. To honor their enduring contribution, these members are exempt from further dues payments. The 50 Year Membership award is either presented at our Annual Convention or mailed directly to the member upon request. It’s a special acknowledgment of a lifetime of service and dedication.
