The Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award recognizes a member in the first ten years of pharmacy practice who exemplifies excellence in professional achievements, community service, Fraternity involvement, and leadership. This year’s award was proudly presented during the 2025 Annual LKS Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Letitia Warunek.
Rooted in Sisterhood at Alpha Phi
Letitia Warunek was initiated into the Alpha Phi Chapter at Wilkes University, where she now serves as Faculty Advisor — a role she has held with unwavering dedication since 2019. In recognition of her outstanding guidance and support, she was honored with the Advisor Award last year during the 2024 Convention.
Empowering Student Success Through LKSAA
As the current Graduating Student Engagement Chair of the Lambda Kappa Sigma Alumni Association, Dr. Warunek has launched and continues to lead the CV Review Service, personally guiding over 20 students in their professional journeys. This past spring, she also coordinated the Ready, Set, APPE event and five NAPLEX review sessions, helping to connect students with alumni across the country.
Strengthening LKS Communications and Mentorship
Over the years, Letitia has made a lasting impact on the Communications Committee by actively shaping monthly social media content, hosting webinars, and supporting digital platforms across the Fraternity. She is a frequent co-host of the LambTaLKS Podcast, with more than a dozen episodes to her name. Her efforts with the Collegiate/Alumni Mentorship Program have helped create meaningful and lasting bonds between members at all stages of their pharmacy careers.
Professional Excellence at Wilkes University
Outside of her service to LKS, Dr. Warunek recently achieved a remarkable professional milestone: promotion to associate professor of pharmacy practice at Wilkes University and the awarding of tenure. Whether through Convention presentations or one-on-one mentorship with her students, she leads with passion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
