LKS spotlights student and alumni members that are making a difference in their chapters, in their communities, and in the field of pharmacy.
Chapter: Alpha Chi Chapter (Northeast Ohio Medical University)
About Allyn:
My name is Allyn Walkama, but most people call me Allie. I am a third year pharmacy student at Northeast Ohio Medical University. I am originally from Salem, Ohio, and I completed my undergraduate coursework at Youngstown State University. In my spare time, I like to bake, read, hike and travel. I am a pharmacy intern at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. I am the president of the Alpha Chi Chapter. Our chapter has 34 active members, 10 of whom were initiated this year.
Why did you join LKS?
I knew that becoming a part of the sisterhood would help me form many lifelong friendships and that I would be able to become involved on campus, which is something I am passionate about. My pharmacy school experience would not have been the same without my involvement in LKS, and I am proud to be a lamb for life.
Most memorable LKS experience?
Two of the most notable events our chapter holds every year includes a business etiquette dinner with the dos and don’ts of what to do on a professional interview. The dinner also includes a fashion show of what to wear and what not to wear. The second most notable event we hold every year is a 5k to raise money for Project HOPE HOPE.
What are your career plans?
After graduation, I plan on completing a PGY1 residency.
