This summer, we invite you to step into that story and share it with others through “The Power to Inspire” Speaking Competition.
Hosted for a second year during the 2025 LKS Annual Convention, this competition provides a meaningful platform for student and alumni members alike to reflect, speak with authenticity, and inspire the LKS community. Whether you’ve navigated a pivotal experience in your pharmacy journey, discovered strength in sisterhood, or simply want to use your voice to make a difference, this event is designed for you.
A Space to Be Heard
Public speaking can be one of the most powerful tools we have—not just for communication, but for connection. “The Power to Inspire” encourages participants to share a personal narrative centered around leadership and growth. This year’s prompt challenges speakers to craft a speech resonating with authenticity, vulnerability, and inspiration. Participants are invited to share their unique journey, experiences, and insights while offering hope, wisdom, and encouragement to others.
Participants are encouraged to speak from the heart. Whether your message is rooted in overcoming obstacles, celebrating progress, or discovering your own voice, your story may be exactly what another sister needs to hear. The competition is open to members at any level of public speaking experience, and supportive resources are available throughout the process.
More Than a Competition
This is more than a moment on stage—it’s an opportunity to uplift others and grow into the kind of leader who leads with purpose and authenticity. The event not only highlights the diverse voices and talents within our organization, but also fosters confidence, courage, and connection among our members.
Participants will have access to valuable preparation tools, including a recorded “Speech Writing 101” workshop, accompanying slides, the official judging rubric, and one-on-one guidance from our dedicated coaches. Erin Rogala is available to assist with logistics and general questions, while Elicia DeParolesa serves as the competition coordinator and speech coach.
In addition to building valuable public speaking and leadership skills, participants have the opportunity to be recognized in front of the entire LKS community. Finalists will work with a panel of esteemed LKS speaking coaches, gaining valuable feedback and support. The top three winners in both the Student and Alumni categories will be awarded cash prizes and certificates. Winners will also be featured in a spotlight article in the Blue and Gold Triangle or on LKS.org. The overall winner will receive complimentary Convention registration for the following year and serve as the Convention emcee.

- Optional In-Person Practice Session: July 9, 2025 (1:00 – 2:30 PM)
- Live Final Round: July 12, 2025 (Speaker’s Competition Lunch)
- Awards Presentation: July 12, 2025 (Final Banquet)
