At Lambda Kappa Sigma, we\’re excited to recognize the outstanding efforts of our Collegiate Chapters. This year, the Beta Delta Chapter from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has earned the Top Philanthropy Event award for their creative and impactful work with Project HOPE.
Beta Delta Chapter kicked off their first-ever Project HOPE Month with a series of inventive events over five weeks. They started with a morning pancake breakfast fundraiser. This was followed by a McAlister’s fundraiser, where chapter members helped customers and cleaned tables to contribute to the cause.
One of the highlights was their “Snowed In” event, where students paid $5 to cover a professor’s office with paper snowflakes. Professors then had the option to pay $15 to block the snowflakes, creating a fun and interactive way to engage with the cause.
The chapter also hosted a SHAZAM Music Trivia Night at a local volunteer center, bringing people together for a lively evening of trivia and community. They capped off the month with an ice cream social featuring a speaker from Project HOPE, providing a sweet treat and an inspiring message.
Throughout the month, Beta Delta Chapter used social media to promote Project HOPE Bingo cards, which helped drive additional support and funds. Their creative approach led to a substantial $800 donation to Project HOPE.
The Top Philanthropy Event award was presented to Beta Delta Chapter at the 2024 Lambda Kappa Sigma Convention in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Congratulations to Beta Delta Chapter for this well-earned recognition!
