Chapter Spotlight: Phi Chapter at Butler University – Prescriptions, Purpose, and Powerful Impact

Phi Chapter at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana is dedicated to making a positive impact on campus and in their community. Founded on June 5th, 1938, the chapter has a long-standing history of service and outreach at Butler University. The group is fortunate to have access to Butler University’s Community Outreach Pharmacy, where the sisters volunteer to provide essential healthcare services to underserved populations. Through this meaningful initiative, volunteers apply their pharmaceutical knowledge to real-world situations, ensuring patients have access to vital medications and care. Roles at this outreach pharmacy include filling prescriptions, counseling patients on how to take their medications safely and effectively, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. This unique hands-on experience allowed Phi’s sisters to not only support those in need but also strengthen their clinical skills and reinforce their commitment to advancing pharmacy and public health. Volunteer work, such as work with the outreach pharmacy, perfectly exemplifies the Lambda Kappa Sigma core value of service, and LKS is proud of the Phi sisters for furthering this initiative through their volunteer efforts.

These efforts have also been well recognized. The President of the Phi chapter shared that her proudest moment from the 2024 LKS convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was winning three Chapter Awards, including the Efficiency Cup, Perfect PepTaLKS Participation, and the Chrysanthemum Award. Winning these awards reflects the Phi chapter’s commitment to excellence, engagement, and sisterhood, and LKS is proud to recognize the hard work and dedication of our collegiate chapters. We can’t wait to see what else Phi has accomplished this year, and hope they continue to be recognized at the 2025 convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!
