At Lambda Kappa Sigma, we take great pride in recognizing those who have made exceptional contributions to our fraternity. This year, we are pleased to honor Deborah Ebbinghaus with the Top Region Supervisor Award for her outstanding support and dedication in addition to the lasting impact she has had on her chapters and Region 2.
A True Mentor and Sister
Deborah\’s influence as a Region Supervisor extends far beyond her role. Members of Beta Chapter recall her enthusiasm and warmth, greeting them with the biggest hugs at conventions and chapter events. To them, she is more than just a supervisor; she is a mentor, a friend, and a true sister. Her guidance has been crucial, especially during challenging moments when her thoughtful advice helped the chapter navigate difficult decisions. As one Beta sister put it, \”Deborah has truly been a guiding light for us as a chapter, and we wouldn\’t be where we are today without her.\”
Bringing New Ideas and Offering Steady Support
Deborah’s support is not just about being there emotionally—she also brings fresh, practical ideas that have been embraced by her chapters, enhancing their sisterhood and promoting growth. Her commitment to LKS is evident in her willingness to be there for every sister, no matter the time or place. Whether it’s coordinating events, brainstorming new initiatives, or simply offering a listening ear, Deborah’s dedication is clear.
Fostering Connections and Building Community
Alpha Beta Chapter has also experienced Deborah\’s exceptional leadership firsthand. Her efforts to create a collaborative environment during Region Supervisor meetings have helped to strengthen the connections between the chapters that make up Region 2. Her initiative in organizing a virtual meet-up between Alpha Beta and Beta Chapters is just one example of how she has worked to build and foster connections that go beyond chapter boundaries. Deborah’s commitment to the fraternity’s core values and her ability to connect sisters across the region have been essential in helping collegiates understand the true spirit of LKS.
An Advocate for Growth and Reconnection
Deborah’s passion for LKS is also evident in her willingness to go the extra mile—literally. Her 18-hour train journey from Chicago to Connecticut to participate in the LKS Photoshoot the Alpha Beta chapter held this past spring is a testament to her dedication. She also played a key role in reactivating Beta Beta Chapter at Western New England University, ensuring that they felt welcomed and supported as they rejoined the region.
Living the LKS Values
Deborah embodies the motto \”Esse Quam Videri,\” always encouraging her region to stay true to themselves and their values. Her actions and leadership has not only guided her chapters to success but has also strengthened their connection to the broader LKS community, highlighting the fraternity’s national presence and the deep sense of sisterhood that defines Lambda Kappa Sigma.
Please join us in celebrating Deborah, the 2024 Top Region Supervisor, for her unwavering support, innovative spirit, and the profound difference she has made in the lives of her sisters. Her leadership continues to inspire and uplift the entire LKS community.
