In our ongoing Sisterhood Spotlights series, we’re excited to introduce Nikki Polivka, a passionate member of Alpha Phi Chapter at Wilkes University, whose journey embodies the spirit of empowerment and camaraderie within LKS.
Meet Nikki Polivka:
Nikki, currently a P3 student at Wilkes University, has been actively engaged in shaping the Alpha Phi chapter as its secretary and serving on various committees. Her dedication to LKS extends beyond her chapter, having attended the past two LKS conventions in Indianapolis and Norfolk. Outside of LKS, Nikki’s involvement in organizations like Rho Chi, APhA, PPA, ASHP, and Wilkes’s Pharmacy Student Senate showcases her commitment to excellence in the field of pharmacy. When she’s not immersed in her studies or extracurriculars, Nikki finds solace in reading romance novels, grooving to the tunes of the ’70s and ’80s, and spending quality time with her feline companion, Bootsy.
Choosing LKS: A Journey of Positive Energy and Empowerment
Nikki’s decision to join LKS was fueled by the positive energy radiated by its members. She recognized that she was becoming part of a community of like-minded individuals who not only supported her in pursuing her pharmacy dreams but also shared her commitment to elevating other women in the profession. Through LKS, Nikki found a supportive network of older sisters within her chapter, providing a much-needed respite from the rigors of pharmacy school and fostering lifelong friendships. Attending conventions further enriched her LKS experience, providing opportunities to connect with sisters from across the country. This experience echoed the sentiment of a previously spotlighted member, Maddie Culina, who also found some of her closest friends during these gatherings.
