Student Spotlight: Meet Breann Saxberg!

LKS spotlights student and alumni members that are making a difference in their chapters, in their communities, and in the field of pharmacy.
About Breann:
My name is Breann Saxberg and I attend Duquesne University School of Pharmacy where I am a member of Tau chapter of LKS. I work at Dierkens pharmacy, which is an independent pharmacy where we fill retail prescriptions and long term care prescriptions in bubble packaging. When I have time to be crafty, I love to sew and crotchet. I have attended two LKS conventions and I am hoping to attend convention in Milwaukee and potentially an NCPA meeting in the future.
I joined LKS because:
I joined LKS for a pretty dumb reason at the time but, I loved formal dances in high school and I heard that my chapter had formals so I was excited to continue dressing up throughout college. Once I was in LKS I learned how many amazing opportunities are available for women in pharmacy and because of that “stupid reason” I have met so many great women through this organization.
Most Memorable Experience in LKS:
My most memorable experience in LKS was my first convention in Atlanta. I was so nervous to attend but once I was at the meeting I knew I was where I belonged. I met so many inspiring women and life long friends with great connections.
Career Plans:
I would ultimately love to own my own independent pharmacy storefront within the community I grew up in. I have always had a strong connection to the community and would love to give back to those who have watched me grow and who have helped me throughout my life. Without LKS I would not be the woman I am today, and I continue to strive for better because of this organization.
